Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Australian entrepreneur Dixie Davey tells the story of her business dealings in Ecuador in her new work-in-progress, Framed, Shamed, and Defamed. Dixie Davey’s work experience in her home region of Western Australia began as a Junior Outside Clerk with the law firm Lavan & Walsh, where she put her typing and administration skills to good use, earning a promotion to Legal Secretary and then again to Settlements Officer. From there, Dixie Davey became a Partner and Company Director for one of Australia’s leading bridal stores for around eight years. After a motherhood break, she became a part-time business banking consultant. After earning a position as General Manager for At Source Organics, Dixie Davey began a string of ventures with John Walker, who would later become her husband. In 2006. Dixie Davey started an eBay store called PH Australia and worked with her husband on a website called Becoming Younger before moving to Ecuador. Dixie Davey and her company Retire in Ecuador both are regarded as authorities on appreciating the country.
Leaving Ecuador in 2010, Dixie Davey and John Walker began writing their book detailing the successes and hardships of her professional interests in Ecuador. Dixie Davey continues to maintain both Retire in Ecuador and Becoming Younger online while working on the later chapters of her book. Subscribers to her website total around 2,000. She continues to write newsletters to these followers, keeping them informed about Ecuador and health issues respectively.
